Manhattan, K-State Recommended For Federal Biodefense Lab
Per just about every major Kansas news outlet, the federal government has recommended Manhattan as the site for a major federal biodefense lab. The site will study diseases such as anthrax and foot-and-mouth disease.
Despite some who have expressed concerns about the possibility of a disease outbreak, I think this is nothing but good for Manhattan, K-State, and the State of Kansas. Having this lab will establish K-State's reputation as a center for biological science -- and I think we can all agree that Kansas' repuatation in the scientific community is in need of some repair -- and that will attract top-notch scientists to K-State. In turn, it could also attract more grant money to the school, and we already know it will bring jobs and construction to the area.
All good, in my opinion.

That is good news for Manhattan
As long as they aren’t developing biological weapons themselves, that is.
It would be nice if this came with a CDC facility as well. :)
Aggressity is the mother of suspension.
Foot and Mouth
or FOOT IN MOUTH Disease?
Most guys might need a cure for that one…
Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.
