May be...

I’ll believe it when I don’t see it.

Exactly

Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.

Prepare folks...

After his comments on the radio, one can agree. It looks less possible as the days pass.

I would not count on it. Hate to be the gloom and doom broadcast.

Sometimes we set our eyes on a point too long and like the sun, it blinds us.

We are going in a different direction entirely. Do not think to the South as in TX we will not find our new coach. Fickle is as fickle does, as so it was, as so it always shall be.
For even in Chaos, patterns are as the tide. It comes and goes as so works the clock, interrupted only by the storm.

For those of you who don't live in KC..

610 AM is reporting that Bill Snyder was offered the job, and he will decide by the end of the week. Don’t know if it’s true or not, but I’m just going to put that out there.

I honestly don’t feel good about getting Patterson at this point, and I certainly don’t want Bill Snyder to come out of retirement because I don’t trust that he can put a decent succession plan in place.

This whole thing is a mess.

Yep

I tend to agree with you at this point. I have no doubt that Snyder might have the coaching bug again and he has probably spent the last couple of years pulling whatever hair he has left out of his head watching RP jack up the team that took him so long to build. I’m just not sure he’s the answer. Does he still have the patience to coach? Can he still command respect from the athletes that are 50 YEARS younger than him? Can he still recruit?

The one thing we could certainly count on though is he should still be able to hire and retain very good assistant coaches. That is hopefully a given at this point. That is actually in my mind the major area where RP has failed miserably. Assistant coaches have been bailing like rats on a sinking ship!

As long as...

Bob Elliott isn’t the DC, I’m cool with whatever.

Personally, I think the key is the assistant coaches. Just like the President, I think it’s more of who you get to do the work, since you can’t do it all yourself (despite your claims in advertisements).

If Snyder brings in the right assistants, he can be successful. I’ve heard he has had trouble letting some assistant coaches go in the past (which was a possible reason for him exiting the coaching realm — see Bob Elliott above). Now he has a chance to assemble a new staff. I would love it if Bielema or Bennett wanted to be DC again in such a scenario.

I'll be posting a story...

later today as to why Snyder is not the answer we are looking for. I respect the hell out of the guy, and I’ll have his back if he decides to take the job, but I feel it is a desperate move on the part of the AD. It basically says “We have no idea what we’re doing, so we’ll just have Bill straighten everything out for us.”

Stay tuned….
