New Blog: Once A Metro covering Red Bull New York!

Yeha! Welcome you bloody KSU Fans

Looking forward to abusing you on a regular basis!

I would ask this - what do y'all think of Ron Prince? I know he's your coach and you have to like him, but he ran off a lot of guys last season. Was there no negativity generated because of this?

Is there something about Prince that would make you to believe that he can carry on the success that Snyder had previously?

Thanks guys

RockChalk:  Nothing is forever, except my frustration.

CornNation:  I meant to comment on your post about Big 12 coaches on the hot seat where you said it was easy to hate Ron Prince...but I forgot.

Here's my take on Prince:  I have met him in person, twice.  He is a very polite person.  In fact, the second time I met him, he asked me several questions about golf clubs and golf in general (guess where we were ;-) ).

As to the people he ran off, it definitely was something that gives me pause.  If the team takes a step back this year, or he runs off a bunch of coaches next year, then I'll be really worried.  But most teams have growing pains with new coaches, I remember a fair amount of players left the Huskers after Bill Callahan came on board.  When you switch coaches, personalities, and coaching philosophies, sometimes everybody there doesn't mesh.

As for being able to carry on Bill Snyder's success, that remains to be seen.  I liked what I saw last year, as compared to the two years prior.  He's going to have to continue the tradition of recruiting good, hard-working, coachable players, because most blue-chippers aren't coming to Manhattan.  The scheduling philosophy is a positive, in my opinion.  In year's past, the Cats occasionally had a wide-eyed disposition in big games and/or big venues.

Thanks for the welcome gentlemen.  Can't wait for the season to start.

We'll carry the banner high!
